A blind guy, Danny (played by Chris Pine) is advised by his brother to start dating, as he is in his mid twenties and has never had a girlfriend before, not to speak of even having sex. So, his very outgoing brother, who owns a limo service company, and has a lot of call girl clients, start to set him up on dates, which all end in disasters. About the same time, Danny is having regular appointments and tests with his doctor, who wants to try out a new brain surgery which would connect Danny's visual cortex, with camera glasses, which might help him see again. There happened to be a beautiful Indian girl working at the hospital, and with time, she and Danny developed feelings for eachother.
But ofcos, she is Indian, and Danny is Italian America, so if it was left to just the two of them, they would ride off into the sunset, and live happily ever after, but they had their parents and cultures to consider.
I like the multicultural angle of this movie, and also the bond between brothers, who are total opposites when it comes to personality. The dialogue and connection between the two lovers is not super electrifying, but it is good and convincing enough. So, I would say this is a good love story. The strength of the movie is how the director was able to pull off a pretty girl falling in love with a blind guy, not out of pity, but because she really did fall in love with him. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10 in rating.
