Movie Review: She's The Man (2006)

I first watched this movie with my little niece the year it was released, and I loved it instantly. I mean, I loved it so much that I went out and got the DVD, and watched like hundred times after that. This is most definitely Amanda Bynes's best; at least for now, until she gets back that magic she had in this movie.

This is a chick click, but a little more than just that. Viola Hastings (played by Amanda Bynes) likes soccer so much but the female soccer team in her high-school got cancelled so that the coach could concentrate more on coaching the boys. An idea came to Viola when her twin brother, Sebastian went off to London for a gig with his band. She went ahead to impersonate him at his new school so as to get a chance to play on the school team. She made a lot of new friends and even became a bit popular among both the boys and the girls. Her secret gave her those friends, and that same secret held her back from enjoying something else she really longed for. In the end, she got every thing she wanted.

This movie is one of the best highschool movies I have ever seen- good humor, great cinematography, great acting (both from Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum), great directing, and a lovely ending. For what it is (a romance comedy), I would give it a 10/10 score.
