Movie Review: Odd Girl Out (2005)

Odd Girl Out is a TV movie about bullying among girls in high-school. It has Alexa Vega playing the role of Vanessa; an insecure pretty girl who has the member of her clique and best friend, Stacey (played by Leah Pipes) verbally bully her consistently. Vanessa's whole crew turned against her at the request of Stacey, and she went deeper and deeper into depression, till she started skipping classes.

Things got worse for Vanessa in school; even when Stacey got bored with making her best-friend feel miserable, another girl in he clique (Nikki) who wanted to continue to please Stacey kept at it and it led Vanessa down a dark path, which almost claimed her life.

In the end, it was lovely how Vanessa could finally stand up for herself, and make Stacey look petty. This movie deals with a big issue in high schools and in the online world right now (bullying), and it would help some present and future high-school students get through a life of bullying; which is almost inevitable in those four walls of a high-school. It's a nice drama chick flick. I give this movie a 6/10 rating.
