Movie Review: The Duff (2015)

The Duff is a lovely, refreshing high school romance comedy. By the way, DUFF is an acronym for Designated Ugly Fat Friend. Although it might sound harsh, but there are a lot of DUFFs out there. You know...the person you talk to just to get information about her beautiful friends. Don't be offended if you are a DUFF, I was once one too. lol!

So, the film goes thus...A very funny, unconventional, intelligent girl finds out she is the duff and in her clique, and gets pissed at herself for being oblivious of the fact for so long. She also unfriends her friends offline and on all the online social media sites. Then she asks her neighbor, Wesley, who is a school jock, to help her out with her social life, in exchange of helping him out with school work. Beatrice had her eye on a boy in school, and she was ready to do anything to get his attention.

Everything didn't work as planned on her end, but she got more than she bargained for in the end. This movie is very funny, has a nice plot, and lovely, heart warming romantic side. I'd give this movie a 8.5/10 rating.
