Movie Review: So I Married an Axe Murderer (1993)

This is a 90s Romance Comedy/Crime by funny man, Mike Myers. Charlie (played by Mike Myers) is a free spirited poet, who doesn't like the idea of marriage or long term relationships. Then he fell in love with a very beautiful and funny girl, Harriet. He later found out that Harriet had been married three times, and all her husbands usually wound up dead on their honeymoon nights.

This is a romance comedy with lots of 'Laugh Out Loud' moments. Mike Myers was just starting out with his acting career then, just after he hit it big with Wayne's World, and he has some really hilarious one liners and gestures in this movie. And the choice to use the beautiful Nancy Travis as his love interest was a perfect one. Not only is she a great 'eye candy' she can also act. And, in all the comedy going on in this movie, you feel the romantic energy between the couple, and totally fall in love with them.

This is the type of movie you would like to watch on a night you are feeling gloomy, and want to cheer yourself up, and not with just a good love story, or comedy, but something that would energize you with the vibes of a good romance story, and also keep a smile on your face the whole time. I would give this movie a 7 out of 10 in rating.
