GOOD
An unkempt man who wonders the city alone suddenly finds an attraction to a young police woman. He enjoyed just staring at her from afar. But when he saved her from getting killed, they grew closer. The role of the policewoman, Sharon is played by Jennifer Lopez, and Catch, the loner is played by Jim Caviezel. In a way, both Sharon and Catch are lost souls who craze loving, but have found a way to mask it. Sharon masks her emotional side by being a very aggressive cop, and Catch buries his emotions by being a loner and limiting his interaction with people.
The romance that builds up between the two is a very unusual kind, and I guess that's what gives this movie a unique touch to it. The romance buildup and the humor shared between the two main characters is great. People say Jennifer Lopez is not a good actress, I haven't watched many of her movies, but I have to say she was great in this one. Maybe it had something to do with the director, or the fact that she had two great actors as support- Jim Caviezel as her love interest, and Terrence Howard (playing the role of Robby) as her partner.
The movie is quite absorbing, and might get you to shed a tear or two if you are the emotional type. The real strength of the movie is how the plot is scripted to make the two characters fall in love without making it seem like something magical or something out of a fairy tale. It is so real and lovable, with some surprises here and there. I also love how Jennifer Lopez's character, Sharon tries not to fall in love but she just can't help but do so. This is definitely a movie you want to keep in your collection and watch a few times over. I won't say it is 10, but it sure gets 8.5 out of 10 from me. It is a great Romance Drama movie.
